Who we are

Shayda Taheri

Shayda is a UBC Bachelor of Science Graduate specializing in Neurophysiology and Pharmacology. She began working in the Downtown Eastside in 2021 and has since then been dedicated to serving the DTES community and individuals impacted by substance use. Personal life events further inspired Shayda to do more to support raise public awareness on and promote understanding of addiction, and she continues to start and undertake projects that serve vulnerable/marginalized populations.

Matt Major

Matt is a second year medical student at UBC who studied Pharmacology during his undergraduate degree. Matt found a passion for serving underprivileged populations during his senior year in high school when he started Bundle Up Winnipeg, a winter clothing drive for people without housing. Since then, Matt has volunteered at numerous shelters, soup kitchens, and other programs designed for underserved populations.
